HIV in dentistry: A 6-point guide

From experience, undergraduate dental teaching involves not only learning about the subtle nuances of our oral health, but the essential, and often critical, medical knowledge to facilitate better care and safety for our patients. Transitioning into a patient workflow, whilst attempting to synthesise the medical histories of our patients, and striving to provide gold-standard care, is a universal difficulty that can resonate with all dental students.

Understanding the medical history of patients is paramount in providing safe care, which can only be achieved through assimilating a wide knowledge of health conditions that have a global patient basis.
