Mind the gap

I'm working on a high-spec laptop which is being projected onto a double-port monitor listening to music on my wireless headphones while awaiting a call through my other laptop. One could say I'm buried in technology overkill.

It reminds me of Christmas Day when elderly family members and relatives get new mobile phones and tablets. Out come the reading glasses to squint through the instruction manual, yet before long their not-even-teenage grandchild comes along and sets it up for them. 'How do you know how to do that?!' they ask quizzically.
