Abstract
Normal-vibration frequencies of the extended syndiotatic structure of poly(vinyl chloride) and deuterated analogs (α-d1, β-d1, α,β-d2, β,β-d2 and d3) were calculated with the modified Urey–Bradley force field. The results were utilized to analyze the infrared spectra of these polymers and detailed assignments were given to most of the crystalline bands.
