Evidence for a Normal Geomagnetic Field Polarity Event at 263 ± 5 m.y. BP within the Late Palaeozoic Reversed Interval

Abstract

Basalts, radiometrically dated at 263 ± 5 m.y., have stable remanent magnetization with normal polarity. This demonstrates the existence of a previously unrecognized event within the Late Palaeozoic Interval of reversed geomagnetic polarity.
