Ice Nucleus Storms in Hawaii

Abstract

THE concentration of ice nuclei active in the air at −21°C at Mauna Loa Observatory, Hawaii, was continuously monitored from June 4 to July 10, 1969, with a mixing chamber and an acoustical counter1. The observatory (MLO) is situated at a height of 3.4 km on the northern slopes of Mauna Loa.
