The worlds of innate and adaptive immunity collided pleasantly and productively as investigators from each field met in Mykonos for the 4th Aegean Conference on the Crossroads Between Innate and Adaptive Immunity.

The Crossroads Conference has as its area of focus the interface between the innate arm of the immune system, which is generally the first to perceive and identify the nature of an infectious threat, and the adaptive immune response that must ultimately control it and thereby protect the host. In this fourth iteration in the series, the emphasis was on new functions for known cell types and deeper insight into the molecular events that govern this area of immunoregulation.
