In the Methods section and the Supplementary Information, the value of 207Pb/204Pb in altered oceanic basaltic crust for the Philippine Sea plate was incorrectly given as 15.629. The correct value is 15.4642. Also in the Methods section, the value of the sediment fluid/AOC fluid ratio for the Pacific plate fluid should have been given as 40:60, and on page 2 of the Supplementary Information, the value of dehydration from sediments at depths of greater than 30 km should have been given as 3.0 wt.%.
