Correction to “NPHS2, encoding the glomerular protein podocin, is mutated in autosomal recessive steroid-resistant nephrotic syndrome”

Due to an error on the part of Nature Genetics, the second sentence of the Introduction was incorrect. The corrected text is as follows. “The structually complex glomerular capillary wall is responsible for this function and is composed of a basement membrane covered by fenestrated endothelium on the inner surface and highly specialized epithelial cells called podocytes (due to their characteristic interdigitated foot processes) on the outer surface¹.”

The authors named the cosmid clones using the 384-well format, whereas the 96-well format is required for database entry. Thus, the cosmid clone names should be 362a4, 122f5, 243a9, 308a8, 374h10, 222b6, 109c9, 59e9 and 307a11 instead of 91a8, 31k10, 61b17, 77b16, 94o20, 56c12, 28e17, 15j17 and 77b21, respectively, in Fig. 1, and 109c9 instead of 28e17 in the text.
