Abstract
Nucleotide sequences of the cohesive of DNA from five lambdoid phages are identical. In contrast, DNAs from the non-lambdoid phages 186, P2, and 299; Which also cohere with each other, show some differences in their terminal sequences, and these sequences, unlike those of the lambdoid DNAs, contain no apparent axis of rotational symmetry.
