Abstract
AS part of a series of conformational studies of nucleosides and nucleotides we have determined the crystal structure of uracil-β-D-arabinofuranoside (ara U). This nucleoside is also called spongouridine following its first isolation from sponges of the species Cryptotethya crypta1,2.
