Revised Amino-acid Sequences for Porcine and Human Adrenocorticotrophic Hormone

Abstract

WE have observed that synthetic peptides with the C-terminal amino-acid sequences 17–39 proposed for porcine1 (I) and human2 adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH) (III) do not undergo deamidation in conditions where the natural hormones are completely deamidated, and this has prompted us to re-examine the amino-acid sequences of the two hormones.
