Reduced Brain Inositol in Lithium-treated Rats

Abstract

LITHIUM has been shown to affect the transport of carbohydrates across various membranes1–3. We report here the results of experiments that suggest an effect of lithium on the uptake or retention of myo-inositol by brain.
