PSA

Prostate-specific antigen

GLEASON SUM

Sum of grades assigned to the two largest cancerous areas of tissue samples; grades range from 1 (least aggressive) to 5 (most aggressive)

CI (CONFIDENCE INTERVAL)

An estimated range of values (based on a given set of sample data) that has a specified probability of containing the value being estimated

TUMOR STAGE

In the standard prostate cancer staging system, T stage refers to the degree of local extension. See also STAGE PT2–PT3

STAGE PT2–PT3

pT2 indicates a palpable nodule within the prostate, pT3 local extraprostatic extension, without (pT3a), or with (pT3b), invasion of the seminal vesicles
