  1. For each genetic background the assay was repeated three times (with independent isolates), such that >1,000 colonies were scored. Mean±s.e. of the three experiments are shown. A single blank vector control was also analysed in each genetic background to give a spontaneous level of Ch16 loss, which was subtracted to calculate the break-induced values shown above. P-values (t-test) are against wild type Ch16-RMYAH unless otherwise stated.
