Abstract
The tubulin superfamily comprises α-tubulin and β-tubulin, the subunits of microtubules, and γ-tubulin, which is involved in the nucleation of new microtubules. The identification of mammalian δ- and ɛ-tubulins as components of centrosomes now indicates that tubulins may fulfill even more functions.
