In both (a, b), arrows mark neurons with no colocalization while arrowheads indicate colocalization with τ. Quantification of the entire CA1, CA2, CA3, and CA4 regions from four AD cases reveals that τ is present in 40±17% of those cells with pS6-positive granules (c).
