Thank you very much for taking interest in our study and consideration for our dosing methodology. The comments made are excellent and we appreciate the opportunity to respond.

It is encouraging that Dersch-Mills et al1 were able to validate the 22 h post dose gentamicin level to adjust subsequent dosing since it was not shown to be successful by Boyle EM et al.2 In our study, it was necessary to sample 2 to 3 gentamicin levels with the first dose of the drug to document Cmax, trough and PK parameters in order to validate our dosing simulations and dosing scheme.
