Since the publication of this article the authors have noticed that the units for the biomass-specific rates of CO2 fixation are incorrect (for example, in Table 2 and Figure 4). The units for biomass-specific rates of CO2 fixation should be gC gC-1 h-1 throughout the manuscript.
