The arrows (↓) indicate the time when the blood samples were drawn. During the visit, participants were submitted to anthropometric measures and a venous catheter was peripherally inserted. ‘Basal’ corresponded to the time before the first calorimetric examination was performed. The time 0 was after the first calorimetry and before the meal. The times 30, 60, 90, 120, 150 and 180 were referred to the time interval in minutes from the beginning of the meal. The same time schedule was adopted in the case of the morning meal (at 0800 hours) and the evening meal (at 2000 hours).
