Director of Cytogenetics

Department of Pediatrics, T. C. Thompson Children's Hospital Chattanooga, Tennessee

T. C. Thompson Children's Hospital, which is a part of the Erlanger Health System, is seeking a director for The Genetic Diagnostic Laboratory. This laboratory supports an active clinical genetics program as well as perinatology and oncology services. The laboratory volume will be approximately 400 amnios, 300 bloods, 600 FISH studies, and 500 bone marrows. There are also many teaching opportunities primarily within the departments of pediatrics and obstetrics. Candidates should be board certified in clinical cytogentics by the American Board of Medical Genetics.

T. C. Thompson Children's Hospital is a 118-bed Pediatric Center located in beautiful Chattanooga, TN. The Harvey Institute for Human Genetics of The Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) Baltimore, Maryland

The Harvey Institute for Human Genetics of The Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC), has an immediate opening for a clinical geneticist with expertise in adult onset diseases to join a rapidly expanding multidisciplinary genetics service. Interest and experience in neurologic disorders a definite asset. Candidates must be Board eligible or certified in Internal Medicine and ABMG eligible or certified in Clinical Genetics and eligible for licensure in Maryland.

GBMC is a 314-bed Medical Center, located on a beautiful suburban campus 20 minutes from downtown Baltimore, serving a diverse population of the Metropolitan area. GBMC provides comprehensive health care to more than 22,000 inpatients, 44,000 outpatients and 50,000 emergency room visits annually. The Hospital has independent or Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions affiliated Residency Training Programs in Internal Medicine; Obstetrics and Gynecology; Otolaryngology and Ophthalmology.

The Harvey Genetics Institute staff currently consists of three ABMG certified practitioners (Ob/Gyn, Pediatrics and Medical Genetics); four ABGC certified genetic counselors; and a full-service cytogenetics laboratory. The Institute also serves as a Clinical Training Site for three ABGC- accredited Genetic Counseling Programs.

This position calls for dynamic leadership in establishing and developing an adult genetics practice, which complements existing activities, as well as active participation in a group of in-house genetics specialty clinics. The successful candidate should have a proven record of accomplishments in clinical service and teaching. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
