The College of Chemistry was one of the founding departments at Zhengzhou University, which is one of the key universities of the national 211 Project ,and of the world first-class university project. So far, more than 10,000 students have graduated from the college, which currently has 180 full time faculty members. In 2017, the inter-disciplinary ‘Green Catalysis’ of chemistry and chemical engineering was selected by the Ministry of Education as one of the three disciplines developed to be world-class at Zhengzhou University.

The college’s strengths lie in functional metal clusters, organic catalysis, computational chemistry, electrochemical energy storage/conversion, and industrial catalysis for chemical conversions. There are more than 400 scientific papers published annually, many of which are published in leading chemistry journals.

In recent years, more than 300 graduate students are enrolled annually. The college has well-established and equipped research facilities such as X-ray diffractometers, Scanning Electron Microscope, Transmission Electron Microscope, NMR Spectrometers, Gas-Chromatography Mass Spectrometers, and High Performance Liquid Chromatography instruments etc.

The college seeks outstanding and committed scholars. Candidates in any area of chemistry will be considered, with emphasis on candidates who will complement or extend the college’s strengths. Preference will be given to those with teaching and research experiences and Ph.D. in chemistry or a related field. Duties include undergraduate or graduate teaching, and research. The successful candidate should have a track record of outstanding teaching and research experience.
