AI tool can pinpoint dementia’s cause — from stroke to Alzheimer’s

Algorithm that distinguishes among a host of underlying causes of dementia could be used for diagnosis in hospitals and clinics.

A machine-learning model can help physicians to diagnose the conditions underlying dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease and brain injury1. By using this tool, neurologists could improve their ability to make correct diagnoses by 26%.
