High-speed imaging captures viruses as they creep up to cells

There’s a new microscopy technique on the block. The developers of the method, called 3D-TrIm, overcame limitations on how quickly and extensively microscopes can track tiny objects, allowing scientists to watch viruses interacting with human cells for minutes at a time1. The result is a detailed view of a crucial step in disease development.
