Webcast: How to write a first-class paper

A scientific editor’s tips for writing titles and abstracts to boost the readership of your manuscripts.

This webcast, from Nature Careers’ webinar programme, is now available to view on demand. In this 60-minute session, Nature Reviews Materials editor Christine Horejs talks about how to write great titles and abstracts, how to structure review articles and how to get started with a career in science publishing.

“If you want these people to read your paper or to pick it up or know, even, about your research,” says Horejs, “you need to write a title that doesn’t put them off right away.”

The session, which concludes with an audience Q&A, was held online in October 2020, as part of Nature’s annual Careers Live conference.

This session was produced in collaboration with Nature Masterclasses.
