Redesigning Wnt for blood–brain barrier repair

The blood–brain barrier (BBB) tightly regulates exchange at the neurovascular interface. Its function is impaired in several neurological disorders, including Alzheimer disease and stroke, but BBB-targeted treatments are lacking. Now, a study in Science reports the development of Wnt analogues that can repair the BBB in animal models of various neurological disorders.
