Mlkl dependent necrosis plays a role in cerulein-induced acute pancreatitis. Mlkl knockout (n = 7) and wild-type mouse littermates (n = 7) were given intraperitoneal injections of 50 μg/kg cerulein or saline every hour for 6 consecutive hours, 2 h after the last injection, mice were sacrificed and the pancreas of each mouse were subjected to histological analysis. Pancreatic tissue sections were subjected to H&E staining and analyzed for necrotic cell death.
