Flow-mediated endothelium dependent dilatation of the brachial artery, as an early indication of the atherosclerotic process, in three groups; left and middle: adolescents born preterm (mean gestation 31 weeks) divided into two equal groups: those growing slowest in neonatal period (left) and those growing fastest (middle): right-hand group: healthy adolescents born at term. Those who had the slowest growth in the neonatal period (left) had the best vascular health in adolescence.
