This figure shows the effect of 40Ar/36Ar and H/D isotopic substitutions. The increased noise in the low-frequency region is due to the low sensitivity of the detector in this region. Note the different scales in the plot. The spectra were recorded at 1 cm-1 resolution on a Nicolet 60 SX Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometer.
