First pterosaur from Australia

Abstract

We report here the first evidence of pterosaurs from Australia. Our report is based on fragmentary material from marine Lower Cretaceous sediments, of the Eromanga Basin, western Queensland. These fragments represent at least one pterosaur allied to the well-known Pteranodon1,2, and establish a new southern limit of distribution for Cretaceous flying reptiles.
