Precambrian geological history and the origin of the Metazoa

Abstract

The Hargraves model of the physical world of the Precambrian challenges the traditional view of the geophysical evolution of the Earth. Its implications on the sudden appearance late in the Precambrian of multicellular organisms are discussed.
