hCG-induced decrease in availability of rat testis receptors

Abstract

EVIDENCE is slowly accumulating to suggest that hormones may be involved in the regulation of their own receptors in the target tissue1. The present paper reports findings which suggest that treatment with human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) may influence the availability of LH/hCG receptors in the immature rat testis. These receptors show a similar high affinity and specificity for LH/hCG to those of the adult rat testis2–4.
