The Viking Mission search for life on Mars

Abstract

On each of two unmanned Viking spacecraft, a number of investigations are planned to be conducted on the surface of Mars this summer. Included in the science payload are instruments designed to determine the state of chemical evolution, Including the possible presence of living organisms, on that planet.
