On the mechanisms of lunar regolith glass particle formation

Abstract

The discovery of many particles of glass in the lunar regolith has resulted in various hypotheses for their origin1. Based on previously unpublished work2, we here give an analysis of the principal mechanisms of their formation and evolution.
