Effects of drugs on the processes regulating the functional activity of brain 5-hydroxytryptamine

Abstract

5-Hydroxytryptamine (5-HT), seems to be involved in depression and perhaps schizophrenia. A behavioural test of 5-HT action in animals has been used to clarify the mechanism of its action and the effects of various drugs used clinically in affective disorders.
