Abstract
PECULIAR jets of matter emanate from some galactic nuclei and QSOs, including the galaxy M87 and the QSO 3C273. It is generally believed that these jets are matter ejected from the central regions of the object1. As a result of non-conservation of parity in weak interactions, the neutrino processes associated with gravitational collapse of a galactic nucleus in the presence of a strong magnetic field can lead to ejection of matter from the nucleus in one direction. I suggest that the jets observed in M87 and 3C273 are the result of this mechanism.
