Sudden appearance of IgG plaque-forming cells

Abstract

EXPERIMENTS described here show that a large number of indirect, presumably IgG, plaque-forming cells (PFC) appear within a few hours during the initial stages of the IgG response of BALB/c mice to sheep red cells. When washed spleen cells are placed in vitro over the appropriate period indirect PFC develop as well as in vivo, but a few hours earlier.
