Using advanced modern equipment capable of continuous monitoring it has been possible to measure the degree of tilt and strain undergone by Mount Etna during a recent phase of volcanic activity. The results are open to interesting interpretation, and the model suggested here, though hypothetical, is quite plausible geologically.
