Two Stage Red Sea Floor Spreading

Abstract

Evidence is presented which strongly suggests that most of the southern Red Sea is underlain by oceanic crust which evolved in two stages, the first from about 41 to 34 million years ago and the second from about 4 to 5 million years ago to the present day.
