Organic Microspheres from the Precambrian of South-West Africa

Abstract

Quartz crystals from the Precambrian of South-West Africa contain organic particles in their inclusions which closely resemble, in detailed morphology, coacervates, proteinoid microspheres, or fossil and recent microorganisms. The theoretical significance of these organic particles is discussed with reference to problems of the origin of life and the search for extraterrestrial organisms by remote sensors.
