Essential Chemical Requirements for Induction of Allergic Encephalomyelitis

Abstract

Several peptides related to the encephalitogenic tryptic peptide, Phe-Ser-Trp-Gly-Ala-Glu-Gly-Gln-Lys(Arg), which is derived from the Al protein, have been synthesized and tested for induction of experimental allergic encephalomyelitis. The Trp ----- Gln-Lys(Arg) relationship seems to be essential.
