Ribosomal Genes and DNA Replication in Germinating Wheat Embryos

Abstract

During the germination of wheat embryos, modifications occur in the resting DNA. About 30 per cent of the ribosomal genes—both 24S and 17S—are missing in the genome of germinated embryos.
