Isolation of an RNA with the Properties of Haemoglobin Messenger

Abstract

An RNA species with properties suggesting that it is a messenger for haemoglobin synthesis has been purified from rabbit reticulocytes. It resembles messenger RNA in its molecular size, its sensitivity to ribonuclease, its kinetics of in vivo labelling and the fingerprint obtained from its T1-ribonuclease digest.
