Physical Exercise and Alcohol Metabolism in Man


THERE is much controversy about the effect of physical exercise on the rate of metabolism of the alcohol, ethanol and on the rate of “sobering up” in man and laboratory animals. Some authors have found that ethanol metabolism is increased by muscular exercise1–6, while others have found no such effect7–12.
