Abstract
NITROSO compounds (I) possess scavenger properties for free radicals, and react to form unsymmetric nitroxide radicals (II) stable enough to be detected by electron spin resonance (ESR) spectroscopy (refs. 1–3, and unpublished work of Forshult, Lagercrantz and Torssell).
