Cytogenetical Polymorphism and Evolution in Mammalian Somatic Cell Populations in vivo and in vitro

Abstract

Co-operation as well as competition between cells affects the evolution of cell populations. Thus studies on chromosomal variation in relation to age, environment and mechanisms of cytogenetical instability have led to the discovery of a new kind of balanced chromosomal polymorphism.
