Abstract
Carbon dioxide binds to haemoglobin at −55° C, in methanol and water, in a manner basically similar to binding in ordinary conditions.

In the communication "Kinetics of Association of Carbon Monoxide with Haemoglobin at Low Temperature" by R. Banerjee, P. Douzou and A. Lombard (Nature, 217, 23; 1968) the second and third sentences of the sixth paragraph on page 24 should read "The value of this constant, which we shall call l4, is found to be 7 103 M?1 sec?1 at ? 55 C.
