Oxygen Bonding in Haemoglobin

Abstract

The binding of oxygen molecules to the iron atom In haemoglobin molecules is not fully understood. Nuclear magnetic resonance of bovine oxyhaemoglobin incorporating oxygen-17 can throw some light on the problem.
