Abstract
SIMIAN-TYPE blood groups of non-human primates were first demonstrated by isoimmunization in chimpanzees and gibbons1,2. Since the original reports, ten distinct chimpanzee blood factors have been described belonging to four blood group systems3 and additional blood factors are under investigation.
