Comparison of Different Isoprecipitin Sera

Abstract

A SERUM has been described from a polytransfused patient (C. de B.) which gave precipitate formation in gels with Some but not all normal sera1,2. The isoprecipitin was subsequently shown to react with serum low density (β) lipoprotein3,4. It was recognized that C. de B. antiserum exhibited more than one kind of reaction1 or had more than one specificity1,5. Further work on serum C. de B. showed that this antiserum contains at least three different antibodies (anti-a1 anti-x and anti-z)7,8. Another isoprecipitin serum (L. L.) was found which contained one of the antibodies (anti-x) present also in serum C. de B.9. The present report deals with the comparison of the following human isoprecipitin sera: C. de B.1, L. L.9, E. S., Gi10, B. B.11, E. Z.12, 700 (S. L.), 928 (J. R.), 1121 (H. K.)6, 352 (J. A.), 931 (G. R.).
