Abstract
PHAGES from the lysogenic bacillus of Lisbonne (referred to as a whole as L phages) H−F6S, H−Sh, PIKcvir, H+ and V lyse Shigella flexneri F6S (refs. 1–3). H−F6S, H−Sh and PIKcvir are closely related2. Among the T phages, only T2 and T6 lyse F6S; T4 sometimes forms a small number of plaques on F6S (1 in 106 or fewer).
